Pierre-Olivier and I (Lysanne) both come from the restaurant industry. In fact, we met between two pizza orders, 7 years ago now. During those years working in restaurants, we noticed the shocking amount of food being wasted. We couldn't stop scratching our heads, wanting to find a real solution.

That's how the idea was born: a line of delicious salsas, from mild to spicy, to reduce food waste in Québec one jar at a time. Why salsa? Simple: everybody loves salsa.

But Pretty Ugly is much more than salsa. It's a product you open to share with friends, by the pool, during a game, or just because you feel like eating well. A product that tastes great, is made with real ingredients, and does good without you having to think too hard about it.

Since the beginning, we've rescued more than 750,000 lbs of fruits and vegetables from food waste, and we keep going every day.
